This was a very tough and competitive game played on Thursday evening with both teams battling to the bitter end to secure a win. Padraig O’Flynn opened the scoring for the Moore’s within the first minute when Kevin Murnaghan won possession from the throw in and sent in a great ball to Gareth Duffy who laid of the ball to Padraig O’Flynn who made a great run from the half back line to knock over the score. Corner forward Aaron Mullins kicked the Moore’s second point in the 3rd minute with a great point from play after a superb pass from Frank Hanniffy. Carbury replied instantly with a point from full forward Kevin Mac Namara after good work by Liam Holt in midfield. Gareth Duffy and Frank Hanniffy added two well worked points from play for Moorefield in the 12th and 13th minute to put the Moore’s into a three point lead. Willie Grome kicked his first point of the game in the 16th minute with an excellent point from play and they reduced the deficit to a point in the 18th minute when Terry Rossiter pointed from a free. Frank Hanniffy converted a free in the 22nd minute and Gareth Duffy hit a great point in the 27th minute after great work from Kevin Murnaghan and Philie Wolfe. Kevin Mac Namara hit another fine point from play in the 28th minute after a great pass from Sean McLoughlin and Daryl O’Brien pointed from a free in the 30th minute to leave a half time score of 0-06 to 0-05 in favour of Moorefield.

Carbury were first on the scoreboard and levelled the game four minutes into the second half with a pointed free from Willie Grome. Full forward Philie Wolfe put the Moore’s back in the lead two minutes later with an excellent point from play after excellent work from Alan Melia and Padraig O’Flynn. Daryl O’Brien pointed for Carbury in the 8th minute to level the game once again and Carbury took the lead for the first time in the 10th minute with a great point from Willie Grome. Frank Hanniffy levelled the game with a free in the 12th minute but Carbury replied once again to take the lead with a great point from Kevin McNamara after great work by Willie Grome and Terry Rossiter. Carbury were playing some great football at this stage and now looked as if they were going to win the game with Willie Grome putting them two points ahead with a good point in the 16th minute. Moorefield raised their game after this score and Jason Phillips reduced the deficit to a point when he hit superb point from play after a great ball from Kevin Murnaghan who was have an outstanding game for Moorefield. Philie Wolfe levelled the game in the 22nd minute when he converted a free. Jason Philips hit another great score in the 25th minute after a great ball from Adam Tyrell to give the Moore’s the victory and to keep their unbeaten record in the league.
